querc is a landscape design office in central victoria, re-launched in 2024 from a desire to craft private gardens that ooze the identity & personality of its owner…uncovering and celebrating their quirks.
Gardens can be so much more than a particular ‘style,’ or paths that get you from A to B in the backyard. They can be outdoor spaces that make you feel something, or say something about the person you are.
We love celebrating each clients uniqueness, and also love bringing playfulness & lightness to the design process- if this sounds like your bag, we’d love you to get in touch!

Scott Rossiter . Director
Professional Member . Landscape Design Institute
Design is Scott's obsession- and he may admit himself, an unhealthy one! But it's his care for design, and his care for people, which makes being a landscape designer a match made in heaven.
He's interested in how landscapes can tell stories- of a place, or of their owner, and is constantly finding new ways to bring playfulness and fun into his creative process. With this new venture into garden design, he hopes to find likeminded clients that embrace his passion, lightness, and appreciation of good design.
When not obsessing over the placement of shrubs or the shadow joint of a concrete step, you'll find Scott making linocuts, writing children's picture books, drinking tea or exploring the world of clowning -

with garden design being our passion, we’d love to design yours- and offer the following steps to realize your dream:
1. initial design consult
A 1.5 hour on-site consult to talk about your ideas and play a garden-game, or two, to help you understand where your garden is now + where you want it to be.
We’ll also walk the site together, to get a feel for the garden, and gather any extra info we think you’ll need for you to achieve your dream.
2. concept design
With a green light to move on to step 2- based on the info gathered from our initial consult, we'll begin working on a concept design. This includes a plan, mood board incl. material/plant ideas, and (optional) 3D renders to present to you in person. This package alone will give yourself a rough idea of the design, and is a great option if you're planning to build it all yourself, with a loose design to guide you.
3. detailed design
However if you'd like the design to be a little clearer for yourself and your builder, we can further provide plans outlining all materials, key levels, dimensions and plant species/numbers to convey the final design. This comprehensive package will give the builder everything they need to know to execute the design as it is intended.
